We had a sonogram yesterday, and the technician says we’re having a girl! Of course, we had two good boy names picked out, and no girl names. I suppose we better get to work!
Happily, GP and I will be celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary on Friday! Hard to believe it’s been 5 years. We don’t celebrate Valentine’s, since our anniversary is 2 days before, and this year we aren’t doing anything big on our anniversary. Instead, we’re heading down to Mardi Gras!
It’s Carnival season in New Orleans. There are parades almost everyday. Really – a total of 30 parades over a two week period, with an extra one this year just for the Saints! I get Monday and Tuesday off work, and GP gets those days off school. The break has absolutely nothing to do with it being a religious holiday, and everything to do with people simply not showing up because they’re either enjoying the festivities in the French Quarter, or are avoiding New Orleans altogether. We will be partaking in some of the festivities – Sunday we’re going to see a full day of parades, and I’m pulling DD duty on Monday night. I hope to get some good pictures of the parades to share with you guys. I would attempt to get pictures of the nighttime activities, but I’m not sure if they’ll be PG rated enough for this blog….
