Feather and Fan Shawl

16 Oct

You may remember that my aunt asked me to make her a shawl. After much discussion and many Google searches, we settled for a nice feather and fan pattern in a lovely black yarn.

Well, black is hard to photograph. I wanted to be sure to have it finished before the weather changed. Fortunately, she lives in Texas, and fall hasn’t really started to show down there yet!

The yarn is KnitPicks Elegance, 70% baby alpaca, 30% silk. It is deliciously soft and shiny, and will be comfy and warm.

All in all, it took about a month to knit. I really enjoy simple but pretty patterns like feather and fan. It’s easy enough to do without much concentration, but pretty enough to keep my interest.
