Clover Shawl

16 Feb

The longest-lasting WIP to ever grace my needles is now done, and I love it.

Pattern: Three cornered shawl in clover pattern, from Victorian Lace Today

Yarn: Skacel Collection Merino lace, almost a full skein

Needles: US 3 Addi Lace needles

Started: 16 August 2007

Finished: 11 February 2008

Notes: I am most definitely a product knitter and not a process knitter. Had I been knitting to enjoy the process, I would have ripped it out about 5 months ago. While knitting, I had moments of love for the pattern, but mostly moments of anguish and some of boredom. Persistence and a strong desire to own the end product kept me going for the majority of this pattern, and I’m certainly glad they did.

It is beautiful, light and airy. The merino is soft and warm, and the shawl is large enough to cover me well. It will be perfect for cold restaurants and movie theatres. I couldn’t be more pleased with how this turned out!
