My Grandma

17 Sep

Generally, I try not to get too personal on this here blog, and keep things in the vein of knitting/crafting and falling down stairs.

But today I am calling on the kindness of the internet and asking for a little help.

My dear Grandma, 60 years my senior, has been diagnosed with stomach cancer. She is in surgery right now, and we are waiting to hear whether the cancer has spread or if it is contained.
Grandma is the most wonderful woman.

She and Grandpa raised three kids (2 girls and 1 boy) and spoiled 4 grandchildren. Grandpa passed on many years ago, but since them Grandma has been around to see all 4 of her grandkids graduate from high school and college and get married. She’s also spent the last nearly 3 years playing with her 3 great-grandchildren!

Not only has she spent 50 (!) years serving as her church’s clerk, she has also taught Sunday School for as long as I can remember. She is a survivor of breast cancer, an incredibly strong woman, and makes fantastic chicken ‘n dumplings.

So, please, if you are a praying person, say a prayer for her today. If you send good vibes, by all means send all the good healthy healing vibes you can. Share your karma and whatever else you can with this wonderful woman who has given so much to her family over the years.

Many thanks from me and mine.

With love,
Gena
